What Katy Did Next

I’ve been singing Katy Howieson’s praises since I first commissioned my bridal headpiece around a year ago from What Katy Did Next. I truly believe she has magic fingers and am in awe of her creations, so when she asked if I’d like to be involved with a few other local suppliers for a photo shoot showcasing her first collection I jumped at the chance! It was a few months in the pipeline but the set up was well worth the wait, when I arrived to greet Katy and model Alex Garrity the car was overflowing with a million beautiful things and when we arrived at the garden location for the shoot her vision came to life!

Suppliers included Papaver Designs who create gorgeous delicate paper lanterns for tables, outdoors or can be hung with tealights inside, Cakes by Beth who provided some  delicious (I sneaked a taste) macaroons and cake pops, The Cupcake Boutique for some amazing little flowery cupcake creations, Lauren Crawford Textiles who creates the most gorgeous homewares, Vicky Trainor who made the vintage decoupage inspired fabric sign and Alex Garrity (also our model for the day) who drew the intricate ‘What Katy Did Next’ framed artwork.

I’ve had to wait to share the results with you for a while as the shoot has been featured on Love My Dress and Belle Bridal website and magazine (this month) so far, with a few others in the pipeline.

Here are a few favourites, and be sure to check out Katy’s new site which shows her pieces in more detail, other suppliers for the day are listed below.

Belle Bridal Website & Magazine

I arrived back from our short break away to discover that the What Katy Did Next shoot I photographed is the main feature on Belle Bridal website and will also be featured in their next magazine! I’m over the moon, I read the magazine and perused the site whilst planning our wedding and can’t wait to see it in the flesh when it goes to press this month. You can check out the online article here.

Recent Press

Well it’s been a busy few weeks to say the least! I’m signing off for a week now as I’m getting married myself on Saturday and then taking a week out to go to the Lake District for some quiet time with David and our daughter, Vivienne. I’ll leave you for the moment with some recent coverage I’ve had from the UK wedding blogs.

Matthew and Lynsey’s Engagement Shoot was featured on Brides Up North and Wedding Sugar, blogs that I love that are extremely useful for local suppliers in the North East, and Love My Dress for the What Katy Did Next shoot from a few weeks ago. I have so much more to share from Katy’s shoot but it’ll have to wait now I’m afraid! Check out her new website though, and I’m pleased to reveal that the ‘Sally’ headband is named after me, which is very flattering 🙂

Back soon and wish me luck!

The Northern Line

I was featured in the Arts section of The Northern Line back when I hadn’t even really started out, and was blogging snaps rather than taking commissions. This week they featured a handful of my Arctic Monkey pictures (which I’m not claiming are anywhere near brilliant!) in a review they posted. Check it the review and pictures here, an amazing gig.
