Kerry & Rob | Las Vegas

Las-Vegas-wedding-085

I still can’t really believe that I got the chance to go to Las bloody Vegas to shoot Kerry and Rob’s wedding.. and, looking back through pictures, it’s really quite difficult to resist browsing the internet looking for flights to take me back..

Never mind the whole day being out of this world, from when we touched down in the desert to the day we left, everyone there for Kerry and Rob had an absolute blast. Kerry was wearing an amazing custom made wrap dress, slightly Elvis style collar, with buttoned boots and a birdcage veil.. they married in the early evening so they had a ‘first look’ before we headed down the strip to do some couple portraits. They were married at the Chapel of Flowers (which I wasn’t permitted to photograph) by Elvis and we grabbed a few more nighttime portraits, before we all hit the Fremont Street Experience to get merry. A-bloody-mazing. Here are the pics..

Sassterclass | Personal Work

A few weeks ago I attended the Sassterclass Workshop, run by Sassy of Assassynation. Sassy’s work is so ‘out there’ and, although, strictly, it doesn’t fit the usual aesthetic of my own work, I went along to get a different perspective and learn another side and style of wedding photography. It was so much fun and so much was crammed into the two days that we spent down in Birmingham. Two couples came along for couple shoots and there was a styled shoot the next day.. it was all a hell of a lot to take in in the best way possible. Here are a few of my pics from my time there.. Taken on a mix of digital, film (my Olympus Trip 35) and Instant Film (Fujifilm Neo Classic).sassterclass-assassynation-photography-workshop-004 sassterclass-assassynation-photography-workshop-007 OLYMPUS TRIP 35MM CAMERA-105sassterclass-assassynation-photography-workshop-009 OLYMPUS TRIP 35MM CAMERA-034 sassterclass-assassynation-photography-workshop-015

January/February | Personal Work

This year, like every year, I promised myself to do more personal work. I decided to begin a ‘365 project’ – a photo a day for a year. I decided not to impose any rules on myself for it, which means most images have been taken on my iPhone (edited with VSCOcam), and some so far have also been taken on my Olympus Trip 365, Polaroid using Impossible Project film and my trusty Canon 5D mkii. I’m enjoying it so far, even if some work-from-home/glued-to-my-screen days are less inspirational than others. I’m enjoying the moodiness of some of them and the fact that my editing preferences seem to be edging into darker territory..Processed with VSCOcamProcessed with VSCOcam with t1 presetProcessed with VSCOcam with t1 presetProcessed with VSCOcam with t1 preset Continue reading

Rosie & Jon | Arpino, Italy

Right.. let’s crack on with ‘back to work’ January shall we? After pretty much switching off for Christmas I still have a handful of posts to share from last year’s weddings. So here goes.

Rosie and Jon married in Italy back in July (remember when it wasn’t grey and wet outside? Me neither.) in a small mountain village called Arpino, about an hour from Rome. Rosie is my sister-in-law, and my father-in-law’s grandmother came from this tiny rural village all those years ago.. I knew it would be beautiful.. I also hoped for amazing light, wine in the piazza amongst the best company and lots of fresh, good food. It all happened, and in all it’s simplicity it was a wonderful trip for a wonderful occasion. Rosie and Jon married in front of their children, friends and family before wandering through the streets to celebrate in the only hotel for miles. It rained as they walked out, which is apparently a blessing, and a good handful of us, fueled by prosecco and music, didn’t get to bed until the sun was peeking from across the valley..

Here are Rosie and Jon..Rosie & Jon-002 Rosie & Jon-001 Rosie & Jon-006 Rosie & Jon-009 Rosie & Jon-010 Rosie & Jon-011 Rosie & Jon-017 Rosie & Jon-018 Rosie & Jon-025 Continue reading
