Contemporary Kiltz

Today I was asked to take photographs for a second shoot with Contemporary Kiltz, I was thrilled to be part of it. Clare has been making ‘kiltz’ for years, and really has a unique product in that they are made with the best quality traditional tartan, but has put a spin on the design adding a modern waistband and showing how they can be dressed up with everything from denim jackets to Aran knits.

We all met up at a family friend’s house in the village I grew up in (you could very nearly see my parents’ house from the garden) and I was gobsmacked at just how amazing a location it was! I had complete house envy, especially when I spotted so much amazing original artwork covering the walls and a fully stocked bar in the billiard room! We made good use of the space as best we could, later taking a few shots to send off to an agency for location shooting. I turned down a bowl of soup and homemade bread to later find out that the family owned a catering business who have worked for gigs from T in the Park to Jay Z to Elton John.. Doh!

Here is a small preview, and big thanks to Clare & Gillian for having me again!

Fighter Pilot {Preview}

This week I spent a few days on set with the Fighter Pilot cast and crew. The set the team had built from scratch was amazing! You wouldn’t think that it was a but’n’ben sized space in the middle of a field in Goathland! I spent my time trying not to get in the way and getting behind-the-scenes shots of everyone at work.

Here is a small preview from the day with those involved, more to follow soon!

Contemporary Kiltz

A while ago I was asked by Clare, a Fashion Student in Edinburgh, to photograph their line of Contemporary Kiltz (her family is based in the area). Clare has been making these modernised kilts for a few years now, made to a high standard with traditional tartan, but with a quirky twist in their design. Vivienne and Frankie came down to be toddler models, and along with Francesca and Betsy they all did a fabulous job. We ventured up to Whorlton Castle just outside of Swainby and then down to Hutton Rudby woods. Here are a few of my favourites from the day, and a big thanks to Gillian and Clare for asking me to be part of it!

Vintage Viv!

Kayleigh from Vintage Vogue loved the fashion shoot we did together, and asked whether I’d be up for taking some pics of my very own Vivienne for the children’s-wear section of her new website. Of course I said yes! The section in Vintage Vogue shop will also be called ‘Vintage Viv’ which I love. I took the following photographs to match the rural part of the shoot we did a few weeks ago, and again applied the film-style finish.
