Rosie & Jon | Preview

I don’t really know where to begin to tell you about Rosie & Jon’s wedding.. It’s been completely different for me shooting and editing a couple when you know them well as part of your family, have watched their family grow over the past few years, get engaged, moving houses, spent holidays with them.. knowing everything that has preceded them in their relationship before standing up together in front of kiddywinks, family and friends and saying their vows.

We all travelled over to Italy, landed in Rome (survived driving a hire car on the ring road), climbed a winding road high up into the hills to find Arpino, spent nights in the piazza drinking wine, ate antipasti, watched the kids running around (until the wee hours).. All topped off with a fantastic wedding surrounded by dozens of family and friends on both sides..

Emma & Ted | Preview

It was quite a trek over to Emma & Ben’s wedding, but I woke up so excited that I couldn’t wait to get there.. I had a strong feeling it was going to be an amazing day.. I packed up my breakfast and lunch ready to eat on the drive over, a handful of mix tapes, double checked my camera bag and jumped in the car ready to travel over to High Offley in Staffordshire for their marquee wedding, to be held (whatever the weather) in Emma’s parents’ beautiful garden. It was such a wonderful day all about family, marriage, tea, cake.. and later some of the best dance moves I’ve seen in quite a while. Emma made her own wedding dress.. and her own wedding cake.. she got to the church in her neighbour’s vintage car.. the whole day was so personal and relaxed it was a dream to photograph. Here is a little preview..

A beautifully simple WKDN Winter Shoot..

Yet again I’m going to launch into singing the praises of Katy’s work.. it’s unreal, ethereal and totally desirable.. plus this lady can style like no-one else I’ve ever worked with.

For this shoot we enlisted the best suppliers in the area.. dresses from Poppy Bridal, perfect make-up by Jo Leversuch, hair by Rebecca Wright Hairdressing, floral wizardry by Bels Flowers and mega eyelash owner and all-round doll Katherine Lees from Tyne Tees Models. We all headed to Middleton Lodge for the shoot, and this was the result..

Kate & Warren

Kate and Warren’s wedding was a completely beautiful, midsummer night’s dream, elegantly ethereal affair at As You Like It in Jesmond, Newcastle (amazing venue with eclectic decor, plus the cocktail menu looked pretty special…!) They were such a lovely, laid-back couple and kicked back and celebrated all day. They have also just converted a church into a nursery (whilst planning their wedding – busy bees!) which you can see here.

A great day and an even better couple..
