I’ve been singing Katy Howieson’s praises since I first commissioned my bridal headpiece around a year ago from What Katy Did Next. I truly believe she has magic fingers and am in awe of her creations, so when she asked if I’d like to be involved with a few other local suppliers for a photo shoot showcasing her first collection I jumped at the chance! It was a few months in the pipeline but the set up was well worth the wait, when I arrived to greet Katy and model Alex Garrity the car was overflowing with a million beautiful things and when we arrived at the garden location for the shoot her vision came to life!
Suppliers included Papaver Designs who create gorgeous delicate paper lanterns for tables, outdoors or can be hung with tealights inside, Cakes by Beth who provided some delicious (I sneaked a taste) macaroons and cake pops, The Cupcake Boutique for some amazing little flowery cupcake creations, Lauren Crawford Textiles who creates the most gorgeous homewares, Vicky Trainor who made the vintage decoupage inspired fabric sign and Alex Garrity (also our model for the day) who drew the intricate ‘What Katy Did Next’ framed artwork.
I’ve had to wait to share the results with you for a while as the shoot has been featured on Love My Dress and Belle Bridal website and magazine (this month) so far, with a few others in the pipeline.
Here are a few favourites, and be sure to check out Katy’s new site which shows her pieces in more detail, other suppliers for the day are listed below.
