Wedding season is here! I’m becoming increasingly busy as the weeks draw on and work builds up but there wasn’t even the tiniest chance that I’d pass up on the chance to shoot the latest installment of What Katy Did Next’s bridesmaid collection of headwear and bridal accessories. There is a whole team of wonderful suppliers involved who I will name-check when the full set comes out, but for now here is a teeny-tiny preview from our shoot yesterday..

Lucas & Martha {Part II}
Yesterday I popped up to the gorgeous Hardwick Park to take some pics of the lovely Lucas & Martha. We met last year on Saltburn beach for some pics, and this time mum, Lynsey, had brought some balloons, a teaset and a football to get some ‘action shots’ of them playing. It was a gloriously sunny day, and we wandered around exploring and getting some pics of them all.

Matthew & Lynsey, Durham
This wedding was RIGHT up my street! I’ve been waiting for a while to feature Matthew & Lynsey’s day as it was featured on Whimsical Wedding Wonderland (here). As soon as Matthew got in touch I knew that I really, really wanted to photograph their day. He and Lynsey described a day full of “vintage school days” inspired touches, and even had sports day games after the afternoon tea service! I was in detail heaven running around all day and couldn’t believe how much thought they had both put into everything. They were even so kind as to send me a thank you card with a copy of their wedding video, shot on Super 8mm by Matthew’s Dad – they really had thought of everything!

Lynsey & Matthew, Durham (preview)
It was Lynsey and Matthew’s wedding last Saturday and the whole thing was right up my street! They also have a love of all things vintage and retro, including a bit of film/plastic camera photography, and their day was just ‘so them’. I had a ball photographing it. They knew exactly what they wanted their pictures to look like, having been avid blog readers like me, and I knew when they first got in touch that we were totally on the same page when it came to wedding photography.
