Reign by What Katy Did Next | Inspiration Shoot

Whenever Katy of What Katy Did Next asks me whether I’d like to be part of her next shoot I always say yes.. and then ask about her ideas. She is so wonderful at pulling together a collection and styling it to perfection that working with her and her pieces is always a dream.. but she told me this one was particularly ‘right up my street’. She knows I adore GOLD. We had wonderful models Katherine (who you may recognise from previous shoots) and Mumbi who stepped in at the last minute, but couldn’t have been more perfect.

Here is Katy’s latest collection, Reign.

An oh-so-cute, bridesmaid shoot.. | Commercial

Wedding season is here! I’m becoming increasingly busy as the weeks draw on and work builds up but there wasn’t even the tiniest chance that I’d  pass up on the chance to shoot the latest installment of What Katy Did Next’s bridesmaid collection of headwear and bridal accessories. There is a whole team of wonderful suppliers involved who I will name-check when the full set comes out, but for now here is a teeny-tiny preview from our shoot yesterday..

A beautifully simple WKDN Winter Shoot..

Yet again I’m going to launch into singing the praises of Katy’s work.. it’s unreal, ethereal and totally desirable.. plus this lady can style like no-one else I’ve ever worked with.

For this shoot we enlisted the best suppliers in the area.. dresses from Poppy Bridal, perfect make-up by Jo Leversuch, hair by Rebecca Wright Hairdressing, floral wizardry by Bels Flowers and mega eyelash owner and all-round doll Katherine Lees from Tyne Tees Models. We all headed to Middleton Lodge for the shoot, and this was the result..

If I knew you were coming I’d have baked a cake..

A few weeks ago I was part of a shoot to promote Lauren’s textile business Thimble & Bobbin. It was organised with a colourful, retro theme to show the collection, which itself takes influence from 60s fabrics and vintage homewares. We had two gorgeous models, Beth and Pippa, and we were lent aprons from Pinnikitty, headwear from What Katy Did Next, crockery from Tea with Ruby, art from Alexandra Garrity, dresses from Make Me A Dress as well as enlisting help for ahair and make up from Vintage Tinsel and Make Up By Jo, and we shot at some gorgeous farm cottages at Bousdale Farm. (Phew.. is that everyone?!)

The day went without a glitch due to Katy being super-organised as ever, and here are the results, which have since been featured on Love My Dress.

Hope you like!
