Sarah and Mark got married last Saturday! I met Sarah when we worked on a Summery shoot for her jewellery line, Penny Masquerade, shot (ironically) in freezing cold January.. Last Saturday was, in contrast, one of the most beautiful days, and it felt like their own mini festival with Pimms, Lavender Lemonade and ‘Sham-pagne’ on tap as guests hung out on the grass looking out at the Yorkshire countryside… As always, so much to say… but for now, here is a little preview. All rights reserved. The wonderful Katy from What Katy Did Next is a wonderful moodboard maker as well as owner of magic crafting fingers, and has recently been asked to contribute to Brides Up North fortnightly with some of her brilliant inspiration boards. I cheekily asked her to make one for my upcoming shoot in June, even though I’d made one myself, as I knew hers would be much better… I love it!
Finally I’ve found some time to pick and upload my favourites from the so-delicious-you-could-taste-it Alice in Wonderland shoot from a few weeks ago!
It has been featured on Brides Up North in the past few weeks, where you can also find the full credits from all the wonderful suppliers who contributed and helped make the day run so smoothly (thanks!!)
Here are my ultimate favourites, it was hard to pick with so much gorgeous detailing going on!
I’ve been singing Katy Howieson’s praises since I first commissioned my bridal headpiece around a year ago from What Katy Did Next. I truly believe she has magic fingers and am in awe of her creations, so when she asked if I’d like to be involved with a few other local suppliers for a photo shoot showcasing her first collection I jumped at the chance! It was a few months in the pipeline but the set up was well worth the wait, when I arrived to greet Katy and model Alex Garrity the car was overflowing with a million beautiful things and when we arrived at the garden location for the shoot her vision came to life!
Suppliers included Papaver Designs who create gorgeous delicate paper lanterns for tables, outdoors or can be hung with tealights inside, Cakes by Beth who provided some delicious (I sneaked a taste) macaroons and cake pops, The Cupcake Boutique for some amazing little flowery cupcake creations, Lauren Crawford Textiles who creates the most gorgeous homewares, Vicky Trainor who made the vintage decoupage inspired fabric sign and Alex Garrity (also our model for the day) who drew the intricate ‘What Katy Did Next’ framed artwork.
